Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, addressed hundreds at MIPIM UK today, as he spoke about the importance and urgency of building affordable housing throughout the country.

Boris Johnson on housing at MIPIM UK

Boris Johnson opens MIPIM UK 2014 with an inaugural speech, welcoming delegates to the first edition of MIPIM UK and citing London as the greatest city in the world. His speech addressed the issue of affordable housing in London as protesters expressed their discontent outside Olympia. He insisted that London should not be punished for it’s success as a city – it should do all it can to retain such status. He suggested that foreign investment into the city is absolutely necessary to maintain growth and will ultimately be a key solution to providing more affordable housing in the future.
