We are happy to unveil the winners of the first ever crowdsourced conference competition hosted by a MIPIM event!
MIPIM UK CALLING
Organised for the first time, MIPIM UK Calling has offered real estate industry experts in the UK the unique opportunity to participate in a crowdsourced conference competition and take part in the MIPIM UK conference programme, reaching over 3,000 property leaders. We asked the public to submit their conference topics and invited the UK property industry to vote for their favourite!
The two most voted proposals have won the opportunity to create their own 45-minute session, get on stage and gain free registration to MIPIM UK 2014 – boosting maximum visibility before, during and after the event.
In order to win, the participants had to submit a topic about the UK property market with a detailed description and share their ideas with their professional network in the hopes of obtaining the most votes. Our winners were entirely selected by the PUBLIC!
MIPIM UK Calling WINNERS
Every town and every city has its own unique story to tell and the pace of change sweeping through our major towns and cities is fast becoming the most significant social event since the industrial revolution. Its effects are far reaching and encompass everything from retail and the commercial world through to housing and communities.
Janine Tijou, founder of architectural CGI and future built environment specialists Designhive together with brand specialist Martin Barratt, founder & MD of The Future is Unwritten would like to share with you some of these newly emerging traits of Britain’s ‘tipping point’ towns, identifying the crucial elements of change, how and why they are important and the ways in which will have a profound impact on the UK property industry. Their presentation will touch on a wealth of subjects including retail, town and masterplanning, brand building and the impact of destination marketing in shaping the urban footprint.
“Tomorrow’s Cities – Today’s Challenges”
By 2030, more than 60% of the world’s population will live in cities. Wedlake Bell will host a lively panel discussion on the issues raised by this change, both legal and non-legal, for the real estate industry. Confirmed panellists who will debate this topic are Liz Peace, outgoing Chief Executive of the BP, and Tim Allen of Peter Brett Associates, Helen Garthwaite, Construction and Sustainable Development Partner at Wedlake Belll and BCO Board Member, and Suzanne Gill, Commercial Property Partner at Wedlake Bell and commercial property columnist for the Law Society Gazette.Topics covered will include:
• Connectivity within and between hub cities, the home and the workplace
• Smart cities and smarter buildings – what will the internet of things mean for the property industry?
• Blurring home and work boundaries – the impact of modern lifestyles on infrastructure and building design, construction and operation
• Property and the environment – will sustainability become truly important for real estate?
We would like to thank all our participants for their fresh and interesting ideas!
