Shanghai K2 Xinhua Lu, located at Puxi, Shanghai, consists of a 37,000-sqm retail street and three office towers.
A retail podium comprises multiple layers of mountain rocks which slide and shift to create a range of architectural space for shops and restaurants. Stepping terraces and pedestrian ramps encourage people to meander around. An elevated street accommodates more retail and F&B pavilions. Pop-up event spaces interlay with ample outdoor spaces. All these provide a new hybrid retail typology that combines shopping streets and malls to promote a dynamic shopping experience. It amalgamates retail, cultural, exhibition and park components.
