Located outside Guangzhou on the Pazhou Island dedicated to exhibition related activities, this complex contains four distinct programmatic uses that split between two different sites which are separated 160 metres away from each other by another building. Situated on site ‘1301’ is the Guangzhou Commercial Showcase Complex that houses a retail exhibition area in the podium with an office showroom building sitting on top; while on site‘1401’ is the Guangzhou Nanfung International Convention and Exhibition Centre/Langham Place, a traditional, multi-floor exhibition centre in the podium with a 500-room five-star hotel atop. The design responds to the surrounding context.
