Bronwyn Corbett, CEO, Grit Real Estate Income Group

Bronwyn is the Chief Executive Officer of Grit Real Estate Income Group, the largest pan African focused real estate fund listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and in Mauritius.

Here is what she envisions for the industry:

Imagine the future of your industry: How do you see your business evolving in the future?

We strongly believe in the Africa rising narrative. The continent is not a country and we see regions of excellence developing on the back of ongoing political stability, intercontinental trade and a relatively wealthier middle income bracket.

Landlords will increasingly have to look beyond their own fence lines in terms of relevance in a fast-changing environment. This is where we see Grit Real Estate Income Group as a regional and even continental landlord of choice, partnering with blue-chip international companies on their accommodation needs in Africa, irrespective of asset class.

Professional commitment: What will be your driving force?

Our passion is to showcase the property investment opportunity presented by Africa.

We strongly believe that the continent represents the last real frontier market opportunity and especially so in property. Our driving force is to showcase that stable, hard currency investment income is possible if done responsibly.

Political framework/governance wish for the future of the industry

A framework that is pragmatic, implementable and holds all stakeholders accountable to each other.
