Istanbul real estate market has its ups and downs – and by that we do not mean the many hills it has been built on, nor do we refer to its chaotic everyday life. The value and prestige of its neighbourhoods tend to change rapidly, due to economical as well as social trends.

And whether you are a resident looking for the best places to live, or an investor in search of a broader perspective of the real estate market in Istanbul, the biannual REIDIN-SER(SOCIO-ECONOMIC-RATING) Report presents you the latest trends since 2007.

REIDIN-SER report includes data about Turkey’s 7 most populated cities (Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Istanbul, Izmir and Kocaeli), 71 towns and 481 neighbourhoods of these cities. REIDIN-SER  and rates them according to their levels of WEALTH, LIVEAVABILITY and EDUCATION.

The “WEALTH” parameter considers the rental or sales prices of the residential properties per squaremeter, whereas “LIVEABILITY” is measured by the residential and population density. The level of “EDUCATION” in a given neighbourhood is measured by average educational degree obtained by the population in the area. And as a result, the neighbourhoods are classified in 9 categories – A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-.

Here are the most prestigious (A+) neighbourhoods of Istanbul for the second half of 2012:
