The joint Vilnius municipality and Lithuanian Railways company was established in 2011 in order to open the Public Logistics Centre in an area which is well connected to the Trans European rail and highway corridors as well as neighbouring countries such as Poland and Belarus.

The logistics centre is located near one of the biggest rail marshalling yards situated on the IX International Transport Corridor. It is currently under development, with over 34 hectares of prepared land plots already on offer right now. There is the plot of land provided for customs and veterinary authority, as well as the land space for further developments such as warehouses. It will also combine an inland container terminal and administration building.

Vilnius City Municipality seeks to attract investment from transportation and logistics companies. The project will be completed within the next few years.
