Wintercircus, Ghent
Ghent Wintercircus, presented by SoGent, The Ghent municipal development authority the former Garage Mahy in the center of Ghent is transformed into a modern and architectural hot spot for innovation and meeting. Around a central and covered inner square, 8500 m² floor surface is developed for multimedia companies, an incubation center, events, catering businesses and thematic retail.
With only a minimum of necessary technical changes, respecting the rich history of the building and its raw appearance, the circus is renovated creating a maximum of flexible opportunities.
The Wintercircus is part of a larger urban regeneration scheme, shortlisted for the MIPIM Awards 2015. Public squares, bridges, the city library and center for new media are already under construction along the attractive inner-city waterfronts.
