Mapletree Business City and VIVOCity, designed to achieve LEED Gold and Silver certifications, is the new landmark development located at the heart of Shanghai’s rapidly emerging Minhang district. The Business City consists of 8 office buildings, ranging from 7 to 20 stories. These highly efficient office buildings create an animated the facade through a series of staggering projected boxes facing a central park, while presenting a pristine image. The VIVOCity shopping mall is inspired and intended as an expression of the traditional bamboo-woven device used to retain the catch-of-the-day by fishermen, known as “Yu Lou”, which symbolizes fortune and prosperity.
