The Hammarby Canal connects the lake Mälaren to the Baltic Sea and is still a vital artery for private leisure boats and freight traffic. The surrounding former harbor blocks have already been transformed in to a housing area. A remaining light industry and office building will now follow in the footsteps of this development by the addition of new functions added – housing by the water.

Around forty dwellings will be built in front of and on top of the existing office building, partly as apartments and partly as terraced houses on the roof. The project will also add new qualities to the area that is currently made up mainly of
housing. The street level will open up to the public through showrooms and a beach café facing the water creating a vibrant city atmosphere. The goals for sustainability are set high and the project will be environmentally certified.
