In line with the ever popular concept of speed dating, MAPIC Speed Matching gives a handful of selected retailers and developers centre stage for 7 minutes during MAPIC to present to a highly qualified international audience. Each session is followed by a networking break where presenters can meet and speak with audience members.

  • 3 sessions dedicated to 15 Retailers who will present their concept and development strategy to local authorities’ representatives, shopping centres and developers.
  • 2 sessions will be dedicated for 10 Developers who will present their shopping centre project to retailers and/or investors

I was lucky to get a few words with Stefano Benard from DIM, one year following his first Speed Matching experience. Here is what he had to say:

 

Q. MIPIMWorld: Why did you choose to participate in the Speed Matching session?

A. Stefano Benard: Dim is willing to develop quickly its retail concept stores and after several year as a Mapic vistor it was obvious for me that Speed Matching would give us fast and strong visibility to the retail world.

 

Q. MIPIMWorld: What part of the session did you find most useful?

A. Stefano Benard: The networking drink just following the different speeches was fantastic! It gave me the opportunity to exchange with lots of various different retail actors.

 

Q. MIPIMWorld: What were your impressions immediately following the session?

A. Stefano Benard: I found it exciting and really effective with lots of contacts!

 

Q. MIPIMWorld: One year later…have you kept in touch with any of your “matches”?

A. Stefano Benard: Yes! The most interesting being contacts I made in Ukraine and in India.

 

Stefano will be back this year at MAPIC Speed Matching and hopes to meet more master franchisee contacts.
